Fishing South Africa
Trout fishing (September to May) is popular in the streams and dams of the Cape, the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal and the Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.
Deep-sea fishing is also popular in Southern Africa, especially in the warm waters of Mozambique’s Bazaruto archipelago and the KwaZulu Natal coast. Record-breaking marlin can be found off the coast of Mozambique from October to March, while sailfish are plentiful in the winter months. The June sardine run along the KwaZulu-Natal coast attracts hoards of feeding game fish and sharks. Tuna fishing is also possible from Cape Town.
